Earth Friendly Products is one of the largest green cleaning manufacturers worldwide with an annual $100m turnover. Founded in 1967 by Van Vlahakis who moved to Chicago from impoverished Crete & used his knowledge as a chemist to develop and manufacture effective janitorial cleaners using natural plant-based ingredients. In 1989 his son John joined the company and launched the Earth Friendly Products natural household and laundry range. Today, Earth Friendly is still family-owned and operated by John and sister Kelly ( shown below). Sadly, Van passed away on April 2014.Initially sold in the health trade, Earth Friendly then launched into mass market and club stores. Enabling consumers to buy at affordable prices, truly green, safe and natural cleaning & laundry products that work, Earth Friendly has enjoyed impressive sales growth without losing sight of the stringent eco credentials on which the brand is founded.
The range now has over 150 sustainable, pure, plant-based cleaning and laundry products and is sold worldwide. There is an Earth Friendly product for every household, professional and industrial cleaning need, from the Best selling ECOS Laundry Liquid, Dishmate Washing-Up Liquid, Wave Dishwasher Liquid, through to Furniture Polish, Window Cleaner, Shower Cleaner, UniFresh Air Fresheners and products designed for babies and pets.
